Enriching Young Minds
A World of Opportunity
As well as all the timetabled co- and extra-curricular activities, we offer an array of after school clubs designed to spark curiosity and encourage exploration in a fun, supportive setting. From crafts to dance and outdoor adventures, these activities give young children the chance to try new things, build confidence, and develop key skills.
On the Farm
The farm is an integral part of our curriculum, offering children unique opportunities to grow, explore, and gain valuable life skills. Time spent on our school farm is an enriching experience for every child. Whether they are helping to care for the animals, or engaging in hands-on agricultural tasks, our pupils develop a lasting love for the natural world.

Woodland Time
Our woodland time provides children with the opportunity to connect with nature in a truly immersive way. Whether exploring the trees, building dens, or engaging in outdoor activities, pupils develop a curiosity and understanding for the natural world. Their time at Woodland Challenge fosters creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork, while allowing children to develop confidence in their ability to navigate and interact with the environment.
Sport
Sport is an exciting and vital part of every child’s development. Through a variety of fun and engaging activities, both in the co- and extra-curricular programme, children are introduced to the fundamentals of movement, teamwork, and coordination. Whether it’s running, jumping, ball skills, or learning the basics of team sports, pupils gain confidence in their physical abilities while developing a love for staying active, which prepares them well for team sports, which start in Year 2.

Art
Art is a joyful and essential part of the curriculum. We encourage creativity, self-expression, and fine motor development from the earliest years. Through a wide variety of materials and techniques—painting, collage, clay, and mixed media—children explore colour, shape, and texture. They build confidence in their ideas and abilities. Whether working independently or collaboratively, pupils create, experiment and enjoy the process as much as the outcome. Their work is proudly displayed around the school, celebrating effort, originality and the colourful world as they see it.
Drama
From age 3, every child enjoys weekly drama lessons, and takes an active role in our annual year group musical productions, which are always a highlight of the school year. These performances not only develop teamwork and creativity, but also help to build confidence.

Music
Music plays a major part in the co- and extra currilcular programme in our Pre-Prep department. There is a variety of musical opportunities available in addition to weekly class music lessons. Our children are given the tools to discover and develop their own musical voice, making music a joyful and transformative experience at The Elms.
Swimming
Weekly swimming lessons begin from age three, giving our youngest pupils water confidence from the outset. Led by experienced instructors, sessions focus on developing fundamental water skills and promoting a love of swimming. Lessons take place in our on-site heated indoor pool, allowing regular, year-round access.
