The Elms have been delighted with the results gained by their Year 8 leavers as they look forward to starting at 12 of the top senior schools in the country in September. As an independent prep school, we pride ourselves on helping our families select the correct senior school for their child and the diversity of choice if prevalent in the leavers of 2020. The “online,” learning that The Elms delivered over the term, has been highly rated by parents, with each lesson being taught live from the Microsoft Teams platform.

35% of the year group gained scholarships for academics, art, music, drama and sport and each Year 8 pupil has gained entry to their chosen senior school. Notable results were achieved in classics and maths with A grades across the board and Shrewsbury School identified The Elms as having delivered the best science results from any pupil applying there for a scholarship.

Two boys applying to Eton achieved straight A and A* grades which speaks volumes for the teaching at distance that has taken place.

All this bodes well for the 32 new pupils joining The Elms in September.
