Drama
The Elms Drama Department aims to promote our children's creativity, confidence, communication skills and, of course, have lots of fun while doing it!
The Elms Theatre has been action packed since its opening in July 2010. We have two drama clubs a week where the children get to explore all areas of the theatre. We start every session with an array of drama games so please don't be surprised if you hear shouts of "ZIP, ZAP, POW" or "SPLAT". We explore voice, expression and mime to help create interesting characters. Most recently the drama club created their own plays around Aesop's Fables and performed them outside with friends as the audience.
All the children are encouraged to become involved with the theatre and school plays are a regular fixture on the school calendar. This year we will be enjoying an array of popular theatre productions from Mary Poppins (Years Two and Three), Cinderella (Year Four) and Smike - a musical adaptation of Charles Dickens' Nicholas Nickleby performed by the leavers (Year Eight).
