Head's Welcome
Set in 110 acres of outstanding natural beauty at the foot of the Malvern Hills, The Elms is truly an inspirational place. It is a school where we value highly an individual's talents and where we strive to further the interests of every child, be they in the Montessori Early Years or about to leave us to face the new challenges of their Senior School at the end of Year Eight.
Children from The Elms pass on to a wide variety of the leading Senior Schools throughout the country, many of them succeeding in gaining Scholarships in Academia, Art, Drama, Music and Sport. Indeed it is the range of awards of which we are so proud as it demonstrates clearly that our aims are well achieved. The opportunities that exist here both in and out of the classroom are enormous and the children's natural enthusiasm in all areas is part of what makes this school so special. Academics are undeniably important to us but we also have an emphasis on outdoor life and our pupils love being involved with The Farm (be it showing the Hereford Cattle or the Gloucester Old Spots, growing their own vegetables and flowers during Rural Studies lessons or Riding) and playing in the Jungle" in other words enjoying a really happy and balanced childhood.
Education is about so much more than simply passing exams; it is about the pursuit of knowledge and giving children a desire to explore and enquire for themselves. It is also about giving them the confidence to know who they are and be proud of that. An education at The Elms does all this and much more besides.
I hope that this website gives you a feel for what we do but there is no substitute for coming and having a look round. We would be delighted to welcome you and show you round and then you will experience for yourselves what makes the Elm's environment and ethos so unique.
